Have you ever seen old chocolate? Like, really, really old chocolate? First, it becomes sort of white due to “sugar bloom” or “fat bloom,” and then it gets really crumbly, like loose topsoil in a garden. Want to see what I mean? Check out this next picture!

What we don’t know is how this person’s chocolate ended up this way. Did they have very bad luck and get sold a chocolate bar that was already at the end of its life? Or did they keep this chocolate bar in a cupboard for two years, and have no one to blame but themselves?
