#3: Uh Oh, SpaghettiOs
If you’re looking at this photo of canned pasta and feeling kind of grossed out, then you’re obviously not a child of the 20th century. SpaghettiOs were one of the iconic pantry mainstays of our childhoods. We know what you must be thinking. Canned pasta? Yikes. It was weird and delicious. No one thought too hard about the strangely sweet taste or the fact that it was shelf-stable cooked pasta.
So many tired parents fed their kids SpaghettiOs for lunch and dinner back in the day. Would it be considered healthy by today’s standards? Probably not. Kids who grew up eating this can of high fructose corn syrup probably opt out of buying SpaghettiOs for their own kids today, but it was the norm back in the day. It was cheap, quick, and a crowd-pleaser as far as picky kids went.
