Hear, Hear: Comical, Questionable and Ludicrous Things People Actually Witnessed in a Courtroom

Here’s another example of a lawyer trying to play the witness. By asking, “What was he wearing under the mask?” the lawyer is trying to see if the witness will answer honestly. If the witness described what was underneath, that draws into question how they knew the man had a mask.

In doing so, the lawyer could then suggest that the witness’s statements were not true and throw their credibility out of the window. It’s a pretty smart, if manipulative, game, although it doesn’t seem to have worked in their favor. Instead, the lawyer was left with an egg on their face!
