Speeding Isn’t Worth It
Speeding may be the fastest way of getting to your destination, but it will only wear down your brakes in the city. Because of the way stoplights are programmed to fulfill the needs of typical traffic, you’re unlikely to get anywhere faster. Also, if you’re only traveling ten miles, driving ten miles per hour over the speed limit will only save you like 30 seconds or something.
Stoplights are designed in such a way that if you drive the speed limit, you’ll be able to cruise through your route with fewer stops. So, if you’re speeding, you can wind up having to wait longer without getting anywhere faster.
