Diverse Homo Sapiens
Even though there are signs that humans are the most successful species on Earth, it’s safe to say that we weren’t the first or the only ones. People have been around for a very long time, but at different times and places in history, they have looked different, spoken different languages, and had completely different genetic makeups.
In any case, the book’s definition says that a person found today who is 115 years old would be a whole new species. It is amazing to see how often this pattern of evolution, which happens about every 116 years, happens in humans, just as it does in all other forms of life on Earth.
