South African Court Denies Pistorius Appeal To Girlfriend Murder Conviction

Oscar Pistorius Lawyers had applied for leave to appeal to the Constitutional Court, the highest court in South African but was denied on Thursday the right to appeal against his conviction for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Authorities had challenged Pistorius appeal on the grounds that the Supreme Court of Appeal had correctly found Pistorius guilty therefore they will proceed to sentence him.

Oscar Pistorius had fired four shots through a locked toilet door, hitting Reeva Steenkamp, who was inside, three times on 14th of February 2013 at his Pretoria home but said that he mistook her for an intruder.
