4.9 million kilowatts of power
The Adam Beck Power Plant is the oldest power plant in Niagara Falls. This and four other stations produces about 4.9 million kilowatts of power. This is enough power to supply roughly 3.8 million homes with renewable energy all year long.
On the US side of the falls, we get roughly 2.7 million kilowatts, while the rest is made and used by our neighbors to the north. If you live in New York, you can bet that a tiny portion of your home’s electricity comes from one of the five power stations.
