20% of the US’ drinking water
We already know that Niagara Falls produces plenty of electricity for the community. But did you know that the fresh water actually makes up nearly one-fifth of the country’s drinking water? The Great Lakes makes up over 80% of the US’ fresh water supply or about 21% of the entire world’s source of fresh water.
However, don’t go plunging your head in the water just yet! The water may contain bacteria and decal matter of fish, which can make you sick (at best). After the purification process, there’s a chance that you’re drinking some of Niagara’s water at home.
