Plan B
So, removing the buildup of loose rocks was definitely out of the question. Instead, some of the engineers proposed creating a dam that would raise the water level in the basin below and force water to flow above the talus instead of through it. This solution would permanently affect the flow’s natural beauty, something that the locals weren’t willing to give up.
So, they scrapped Plan B before it even began, forcing the scientists back to square one. Still, with the possibility that the falls would forever be on the verge of self-erosion, they had to act quick. They couldn’t just leave the falls as they were, could they?
