Life can be tough, but it is often also something worth celebrating and enjoying while we can. Many cultures place great importance on pausing to enjoy and be grateful for what you have, including varied festivals and celebrations surrounding love or life itself. Here are some festivals around the world that celebrate life and love as examples.

Songkran
Every year in Thailand around the Thai New Year, mid-April, the Songkran festival takes hold. It’s one of the biggest and most carefree festivals you’ll see, focused around a big fun water fight that takes place for multiple days.
Qixi
On the 7th day of the 7th month in the Chinese calendar, China’s celebration of love known as Qixi takes place. Single people prepare fruit as a way of hoping and preparing for love, and couples pray for prosperity and celebrate their love.
Holi
Many of us have already heard of Holi, the festival of colors in Hindu culture. It is meant to bring in spring and celebrate the triumph of good over evil. Many miniature celebrations occur over the course of this holiday as well as the main festival full of color and joy.
Friendship Day
Estonia and Finland each have their own version of celebrating love in the form of being grateful for and celebrating friendships during the traditional Valentine’s Day on February 14. These celebrations are called Sobrapaev and Ystävänpäivä.
Montreal Jazz Festival
At the end of June every year the largest jazz festival in the world occurs, with tons of great music and festivities that get your spirits up and keep you busy while celebrating. This happens for 10 days in Montreal, Canada and celebrates big and loud.
Dragobete
Romania celebrates their own mixture of bringing in spring and celebrating love on February 24 with Dragobete, translated as “the day the birds are betrothed”. People take to fields to pick flowers and bask in nature for bringing in health and happiness.

Sziget Festival
Seven days on an over 100 acre island each year in Budapest marks the Sziget festival, a major celebration of culture, art, music, and life in general. There are big names in music that perform for this festival as well as tons of things to see and do during the celebration.
There are so many unique ways to enjoy your life, and these festivals are such amazing displays of what can happen when people come together for a common means of celebration. These and many others are one of a kind and happen all around the globe, while some may vary in timing and/or be delayed or run out of occurrences, we still value their meaning.
