Sounds Like A Completely Different Language While You’re In The UK
There are times when I visit the UK that I get the distinct impression that people there speak an altogether other language. We are well aware of the fact that this is more of a matter of dialect, and that the language itself is essentially unaffected by it in any significant way.
But where did the word “fairy floss” come from in the first place? There is not the tiniest relationship that we can make between fairies or floss. In fact, floss brings to mind the act of flossing one’s teeth. Does cotton candy taste like this in the United Kingdom? We hope not.
