Blobfish

Blobfish live in deep water just off the ocean floor around southeastern Australia and Tasmania. At depths of 2,000 – 3,900 feet, where the water pressure is crushing—more than 60 times that of water at the surface. The flesh of the blobfish is mostly a gelatinous mass with a density slightly less than water; this allows the fish to float above the sea floor without using energy on swimming.
