Sky Sports Wouldn’t Tolerate Richard Keys and Andy Gray’s Behavior
In 2011, an off-air conversation between two commentators on Sky Sports, Andy Gray and Richard Keys, was recorded and leaked. In the conversation, they used derogatory language and discredited the work of Sian Massey-Ellis, a female linesman who had officiated in a game between Liverpool and Wolves.
The exchange went poorly, with much public outcry. This eventually led to Gray and Keys leaving their sports news channel positions. Massey-Ellis was taken out of two upcoming games at the time due to worries that she would be a major distraction from the playing.
