Tootie’s Real Name
Though we typically only think of her as “Tootie,” the character’s full name on the show is Dorothy Ramsey. To be honest, even we rarely paused to consider what her real name might be–“Tootie” just feels so fitting for the adorable young woman who wears pigtails and roller skates.
Dorothy’s persona is a little too old for her real age, so the creators decided to give her a nickname–Tootie. It’s fascinating when writers provide characters with nicknames and formal names because it means that the actress portraying them will have three different names to remember!
