Lisa Whelchel was asked to audition for the role of Rachel Green on Friends, but she decided not to because even though she loved the pilot script and found it hilarious, Lisa thought that too much of the show’s content was inappropriate.
Interestingly, Nancy McKeon actually auditioned for the role of Monica Geller but ultimately lost out to Courteney Cox. In retrospect, we think it all worked out for the better – after all; we couldn’t imagine the cast of Friends any other way!
