An All-Male Facts of Life?
The producers of the show were fixated on the idea of a spinoff, and there were already four other potential spinoffs in development. One was an all-male cast set at a military school near Eastland, an all-girls school.
The potential show would have starred Jimmy Baio, Scott Baio’s cousin and former star of Soap. Another possibility for a spinoff was to focus on Jo and Blair’s college experiences. Additionally, they considered making a series about Jo’s family in NYC or one that focused on Tootie’s cousins’ interracial marriage (which was controversial at the time).
