The royal couple’s tour of Australia in 1983 was quite strained, to say the least. Charles resented how people were more interested in Diana than him, while Diana had a complete meltdown when she realized she would have to be away from baby William for long periods of time. The first part is actually true – Diana herself confirmed that Charles’ jealousy was a major issue during their marriage.
However, the second plan fell through – William was supposed to be there from the beginning, and Diana needed to fill her role as a royal completely.
