Prince Philip and Diana Enjoyed a Close Relationship – True
The fourth season often shows Diana and Prince Philip having a close, father-daughter type of relationship. While we don’t know exactly what they said to each other in private, it’s clear they were close at some point. Recognizing that she was an outsider like himself, Philip reportedly took Diana under his wing and taught her how to make small talk at formal dinners.
In addition to physically spending time together, the two also corresponded with each other through letters in the ’90s. Diana even affectionately called him “Pa” at one point. However, their relationship eventually dissolved for similar reasons as her marriage did; Philip remained loyal to the Crown while Diana moved on.
