Diana Was Clueless About Royal Protocol – False
The Crown suggests that Diana’s entrance into the Royal Family was akin to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, just without any humor. They would have us believe that she was a fish out of the water and show her awkwardly attempting curtseys or getting savagely mocked by Princess Margaret. There is no way this could be true. Despite being technically considered a commoner, Diana came from an aristocratic family with centuries of history. Six of her relatives served in the Queen Mother’s household.
Her father worked for the Queen, and her childhood playmates were Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, so Diana would never have bungled royal protocol. In addition, her grandmother wasn’t the punishing taskmaster that The Crown claims she was.
