Mel Brooks became famous as a director through comedy films, including The Twelve Chairs, The Producers, and Young Frankenstein. He won his first Tony after one of his Broadway plays, The Producers, was made into a Hollywood film in the early 2000s.
His long and successful career has earned him a Tony for The Producers as well as a Grammy, an Emmy, and an Oscar.
