Although Gene Hackman is now retired, he remains one of the most unforgettable and celebrated Hollywood actors. The acclaimed thespian and novelist has long held iconic status in Hollywood, thanks to his appearances in classic films like The French Connection series and the Superman franchise (1978-1987).
Hackman’s retirement in 2004 left a large hole in the film industry. One of his last performances, which was highly memorable, was as Royal Tenenbaum in The Royal Tenenbaums (2001).
