Not so meaningful
This wasn’t a terrible tattoo to begin with, and maybe the individual just wanted something new. It looks like it has a lot of personal meaning, which is what tattoos are all about. They’re little reflections of our story up to this point.
The second tattoo seems to be even deeper in meaning than the first. And it’s pretty impressive too. The only question is, what happened to the text if this tattoo was supposed to cover up the first one? Only the artist knows for sure.
