Tom Cruise
Cruise is a perplexing individual. His public reputation has been plummeting recently since he was married to Katie Holmes and became very interested in Scientology and leaped on Oprah’s couch once. Furthermore, I believe he isn’t in many films these days, and the ones he’s in aren’t particularly notable.
And yet, even though his movies are often unusual, people still go see them. He’s such a big name in Hollywood that just his presence is enough to convince some people to see a movie. I guess there is a portion of the population that isn’t really bothered by eccentricity.
