Beyoncé
Honestly, I’m undecided on this one. To be honest, I’ve never been a huge Beyoncé fan. However, I don’t mind her, and she has a few songs that I enjoy, but I’ve never comprehended the degree of adoration that some of her fans appear to have for her. She’s nice enough, but she isn’t anything special (I know).
But, in my opinion, this is a difficult problem that we cannot simply reduce to the statement “Beyoncé is a monster.” To begin with, those allegations were published in a tabloid—not the most incredible place to look for accurate information—and there was no indication that it was minors working there. Most importantly, the tragic reality is that most of our products are produced in factories like these. Most of the stuff we own is made by low-wage workers in factories, so if you’re mad about that, you’ll have to get rid of a lot of your belongings. I commend you if that’s a stand you’re willing to take! But it doesn’t make sense to be angry with Beyoncé for this when everybody else does it too.
