Ben Stiller
That last one had me rolling my eyes so hard that I think I sprained something. This is a textbook example of someone making a complex statement and having it simplified down to something simple (and controversial because you have to get clicks somewhere). And then there’s a slew of individuals who accept it as truth.

I’ve seen a few other people make the same mistake, so I’ll save you some time and effort. Read Stiller’s actual Twitter conversation on the subject of nepotism instead. You’ll see that he did not say what he is accused of. He conceded that nepotism does occur in Hollywood but only said it would be wrong to believe that people with famous parents will never work for their success and that people without such ancestry will not succeed in the business. Both of which appear to be correct to me.
