If individuals simply looked at who was in the background before snapping the photo, there would be far fewer hilarious Photoshop failures. They wouldn’t have to add additional requests for James Fridman to handle people that weren’t supposed to be in the shot since doing so would not add any benefit. But where’s the fun in that?
In this scenario, the client made the blunder of just asking James Fridman to “do something with the woman in the background.” As a result, Fridman decided that he would “do something” by putting her in the man’s arms. Now she’s not a stranger in the backdrop; instead, she’s part of the group.
