There’s No Good Explanation
Handrails are made to be helpful while walking downstairs. Pillars are made to hold up the roof. These things are not meant to collide with each other. I mean, I’m no architect or building contractor, but even I can tell that this was clearly a mistake. What good is a handrail if it disappears into a big white column all of a sudden?
If it hasn’t already become abundantly clear, perfectionists like things to be…well, perfect. Or at the very least, not obviously imperfect. This structural mistake is jarring in how obvious it is and how much it just does not make any sense whatsoever. Imagine trying to explain this to your boss.
