Hugs and Other Skinship
Men in India are not afraid to express their love, and they do so in various ways. Many countries around the world consider hugging by men to be too “feminine”; therefore, males would instead settle for a conventionally “manly” hand shake.
It is, however, quite common in India for male friends to walk together and not avoid offering one another a hug. Friends riding the same bike with the passenger riding behind him firmly grasping the person in front of him is nothing unusual. In our view, it’s rather cute.
