Billy Joel never sells tickets to the front rows of his concerts for a good reason
The wealthy can always be found in the front row at rock concerts, basking in their ability to afford such prime seats. Meanwhile, many other fans have to suffer through the show from much further back, never getting the chance to see their favorite band up close.

Billy Joel decided that he would never sell front-row tickets to make sure everyone had a great time at his concerts. Instead, he preferred to have his road crew look for people sitting in the worst seats and bring them up to the center of the stage. That way, no one would feel left out or unimportant.
