Here’s the truth behind the phenomenon called ‘Angel’s Glow’
A mysterious occurrence during the American Civil War was the “Angel’s Glow,” found in some individuals who began to recover more quickly from injuries suffered at Shiloh in 1862. Their wounds would start emitting a soft light.

The “Angel’s Glow” was a mystery for many years until 2001, when two teens discovered it was caused by bioluminescent bacteria. This bacteria feeds on other harmful bacteria or pathogens, which kept soldiers healthy and prevented them from getting severe infections.
