The Internet is Connected by Satellites
Even though we regularly use the internet, many of us don’t stop thinking about how it works. The majority of people believe that the internet is satellite-based (i.e., it relies on satellites for connection). However, in reality, most data sent via the internet is transferred through fiber optic cables located beneath the sea.
Although satellite connectivity is available and can be used as an alternative to fiber optic cables, it typically isn’t the first choice. This is because other options, like fiber optics are usually more practical.
