Dogs Don’t See the World in B&W and 40 Other Popular “Facts” That Are Actually Myths Explained

The Great Wall of China is Visible From Space

The Great Wall of China is an incredibly impressive feat of engineering, stretching a whopping 21,196 km. That’s about half the length of the equator! It’s no wonder that it’s considered one of the most incredible constructions ever made by man. In addition to being considered a wonder of the world, the Great Wall has been touted as “the only man-made object that is visible from space.”

Although this rumor is widespread, it has been debunked many times — no artificial object is visible from space (the Great Wall included). Several astronauts have confirmed that the Great Wall, although very large, cannot be seen without a telescope or other device from space, not even in low orbits.
