However, this height is in French units — according to today’s standards, he would be about 5’7. Even if that isn’t considered tall by today’s standards, remember that during Napoleon’s day, the average height for an adult male was only about 5’5. So comparatively speaking, Napoleon was actually tall for his day and age.
