Raquel Welch had a career change at an early age. Raquel originally aspired to be a ballerina, having practiced the art form for around ten years before her ambitions were dashed.
Ballet is a very competitive and demanding activity, and not everyone makes it as a ballerina. After her instructor told Welch she didn’t have the physique for ballet, she quit. She did, however, go into acting after that.
