Wait, Who’s Bill Posters?
A sign that reads, “Bill posters will be prosecuted,” hangs on the wall. Of course, this is a commonly seen sign in the United Kingdom that implies, “Don’t post any advertisements on this building, or we’ll call the cops.” But this know-it-all graffiti artist changed how we all see this warning with his witty modification.
How did the graffiti artist accomplish this? Simply adding a new warning sign that stated, “Bill Posters is an innocent man!” underneath the original caution sign. We don’t see “Bill Poster” as someone who posts bills, but rather as an actual individual named Bill Posters who doesn’t deserve to be persecuted.
