Superscript and All of its Fake Friends

You were mistaken if you thought that including one confusing elevator was enough for one post. There are always things that catch your attention, especially printed text on advertisements, which cause you to question if a native English speaker had any involvement in the project because there is never a misspelling.

Whoever was in charge of naming the elevator floors decided that all numbers from 1 to 4 have the same superscript ordinal appended to them at the end. Of course, this is not correct. The poor second and first floors have been stripped of their former grandeur.
