Tying the Knot
The actress first met Roger Vadim – French film director, producer, and screenwriter – when auditioning for Les Lauriers Sont Coupés. He was the one who confirmed to her that she didn’t get the part. When they became lovers and decided to make things official, it really turned out to be an actual change of events.

Bardot’s parents strongly opposed their daughter’s relationship with Vadim, but she triumphed after pulling some severe threads. On December 20th, 1952, they exchanged vows in a church in Paris when Bardot was just 18 and Vadim was 24.
