Picking Up Ballet Shoes
During World War II, when Paris was under German occupation, actress Brigitte Bardot was compelled to remain confined to her house due to the growing intense civilian monitoring. She became interested in dancing and phonograph records, which prompted her mother to think of her.
She began dancing when she was 13, enrolling at the prestigious Conservatoire de Paris to take her dancing lessons further. She trained there in ballet for around three years under the legendary Boris Knyazev, a Russian choreographer.
