Look in your Lofts and Attics
Bees prefer attics and lofts because these locations are quiet and rarely disturbed. Although honey bees are not typically found in attic spaces, there have been several confirmed cases of beehives being removed from there by pest control agencies.
Homeowners rarely ever clean or even enter their attic, so most hives are only detected when the bees have already infested other areas of the house–such as ceiling stains or physically seeing the hive upon entering the attic. By then, it’s often too late.
