Swarmed on Fence Posts
If you come across some odd-looking holes and wood shavings on your fence posts, don’t be alarmed – a family of carpenter bees has just moved in. Now that they’re here, should you try to get rid of them or let them stay? We can’t decide for you, but we would hate to disturb their home either way.

Carpenter bees are a threat to any building made of wood because they can bore into it and make nests. Their ideal nesting ground would be unpainted and somewhat weathered wood that has never been pressure treated. This is especially true for artificial decking materials used in construction, as carpenter bees love them.
