For those not in the know, beehives attacking compost sites or trash cans is a thing. In order to solve this issue, it is recommended by experts that you observe and watch the colony closely without disturbing them.

The colony will die out naturally on its own after males, and new queen bees have emerged. There will also be a transition from more activity around the nest, followed by notably less and then no activity. If hives reach the point of inactivity, you can safely move the compost bin.
