Brand new TV
During the 1950s, the television set became one of the most popular items in America. There were only about three million U.S. homes with a TV at the start of the decade; by the end of the decade, that number had risen to 55 million.
It would not be until the 1960s that color television would be implemented. Of course, as seen in this snap, TVs didn’t exactly resemble what they do today and were bulky and hefty due to their tiny screen.
