Not on the Nightstand

This seems like common sense, but it bears repeating: do not leave your valuables on your nightstand. That’s leaving them out in the open and vulnerable to prey. If an interloper waltzes into your bedroom and finds gold jewelry on your nightstand, they’ll very obviously take it. It’s like drawing a red target for them to find.

Instead, find places that are out of reach to house your belongings. Your floor. The walls. The false outlet from earlier. Anything that’s not obvious to burglars. Remember, if they have to spend more than a minute searching for something of value, they’ll just give up. Force them to give up.
