It’s a well-constructed ploy, to be sure. Anyone could fall for it., and why wouldn’t they? But you shouldn’t. If you don’t know this person well or trust them with your life, chances are they’re out to get something from you. There’s nothing wrong with being a little paranoid when it comes to situations like this.
