Hang on Tight
What are those handles on the door for? We have all probably thought about this question if we’ve been on an airplane, but most of us never ask the flight attendant. Turns out, that might be a good thing. The answer might be something most of us don’t actually want to hear.

The handles on the airplane doors are for flight staff to use in an emergency situation. In a situation where passengers may be panicking and stampeding to get out, attendants can use the handles to maintain control and successfully open the doors. Not a super pleasant thought, but it’s assuring to know they’re there for a good reason.
