Under Lock and Key?
A lot of suitcases come with built-in locks, and then there are some travelers who like to use their own personal locks for their checked bags. But, do we actually need them? Do they actually provide the protection they promise? According to some honest baggage handlers, the answer is a hard no.
The locks on suitcases are easy to pick and open. Sometimes, TSA will have a reason to physically search your checked baggage, so your suitcase will be opened anyways. (TSA always puts a notification in your bag if it has been searched in this manner). While this may be a cause for concern for some people, rest assured that the employees who handle your baggage take their jobs very seriously and misconduct is extremely rare.
