Your Item Got Confiscated? Say Goodbye
TSA agents have to confiscate items at airport security all the time. While it can be a bummer, there are guidelines listing prohibited items pretty much everywhere at an airport. You can’t say they don’t give fair warning! Some of the most commonly discarded items are liquids that are more than 100ml, corkscrews, and pocket knives. But where do all of those things go once TSA takes them?

There are so many urban legends about airport employees taking home confiscated items for themselves. Don’t worry – that’s simply not true. In reality, all items are thrown away. All of these prohibited items are taken to special hazardous waste sites that cost a lot of taxpayer money. Next time you fly, make sure you leave your fun-but-prohibited items at home.
