This calls for more Fika!
Fika doesn’t really have a direct translation in English. The closest any can get to describing it is a short break where you drink coffee and eat pastries. We know, it sounds absolutely awful, but if you ever visit Sweden, you better suck it up. Fika is a very important part of everyday life.
In fact, it’s so important that you need a Fika after Fika. It’s a very tiresome activity due to all of the pastries you stuff into your mouth. Can you imagine just drinking coffee after coffee while eating punsch rolls, semla buns, raspberry caves, and arak balls over and over again? Seriously, how do the Swedes stay so thin?!
