Lördagsgodis!
Weekends in Sweden are special for many reasons. For the kids, it’s the only two days where they can consume their own bodyweight in candy. You see, there’s a tradition in Sweden where you can only have candy on the weekends. It’s like some unwritten law, and people will gasp at you if you chew on a licorice stick on a weekday. Except that you won’t hear the gasp since they’re standing several feet away from you.
It all started when some dentist realized that kids who ate less candy had better teeth. So, people organized a custom where children can only have sweets on the two best days of the week.
