Swedes know how to celebrate
In America, graduation is a pretty huge deal, even if you’re just moving from the sixth grade to the seventh. Everyone puts on black robes and a hat, waits for their name to get called, collects their diploma, then sits down until the ceremony is over. It’s a pretty formal affair.
But in Sweden, they take their graduation celebrations in a completely different direction. The drinking age in Sweden in 18 years old, so when you graduate (or become a senior in high school), you’re legally allowed to drink until your liver shuts down. And that’s exactly how everybody celebrates graduating high school. Drink until you forget everything in the last three years (high schools in Sweden are from the tenth to the twelfth grade).
